"Die digitale Sammlung Brandes präsentiert eine charakteristische Auswahl von rund 200 Bänden aus der Privatbibliothek des Hannoveraner Beamten Georg Friedrich Brandes (1719-1791). Seine ca. 22.000 Bände umfassende Büchersammlung war der Gründungsbestand der heutigen Landesbibliothek Oldenburg (eröffnet September 1792)."
