Canandaigua, May 1, 1813. The following letter from Gen. B. [i.e., P.B.] Porter, was sent by express to John C. Spencer, Esq. of this village, and received here this afternoon. ... ; "Manchester, (Niagara Co.) April 28, 1813 ... "Dear Sir--I have just returned from Fort Niagara, where I saw a captain of the U.
